Blas Luna is the founder and owner of EMC Captains Baseball, bringing his lifelong passion for the game and commitment to youth development to East Montgomery County. With a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest levels, Coach Luna has built EMC Captains Baseball on the foundation of excellence, integrity, and family values.
As both owner and head coach, Blas is dedicated to creating an environment where young athletes can thrive both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy centers on developing fundamental skills, fostering mental toughness, and instilling the character traits that lead to success in baseball and in life. Coach Luna believes that every player has unique potential, and he works tirelessly to help each athlete discover and maximize their abilities.
Eddie Reed has been coaching youth baseball for eight years and has proudly been part of the EMC Captains since the team’s beginning four years ago. As one of the original Captains coaches, Eddie’s focus on strong fundamentals and consistent hard work has helped shape the team’s success and growth.
A lifelong baseball fan — and devoted New York Yankees supporter — Eddie brings both passion and experience to every practice and game. Most importantly, he’s a proud dad to one of the Captains players, which he calls his favorite job in the world.
Jaime Vanegas is a dedicated single dad whose world revolves around his kids and the game he loves. With years of coaching experience under his belt, he’s helped shape not only players but young men with discipline and heart. Outside the field, Jaime keeps his competitive spirit alive by staying active and living a balanced, purpose-driven life.
His mix of strength, loyalty, and genuine kindness makes him the kind of man who leads by example both as a father and as a coach.
Matthew Jordan, a native of Conroe, Texas, began his baseball career at the age of six and went on to compete at Trinity University, where he played both as a pitcher and outfielder.
His extensive experience and deep understanding of the game now guide his role as an EMC Captains coach. Outside of coaching, he enjoys playing golf, tennis, and spending quality time with his family.
Felix had the privilege of coaching many sports over the years, but his true passion is baseball. He takes great pride in motivating each player and providing positive, constructive feedback to help them grow.
Coach Felix is dedicated to teaching young athletes the importance of positivity, teamwork, and personal development—both on and off the field.
Coach Dustin Carver is proud to lead the 10U EMC Captains Baseball team this season. With a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field, Coach Carver is committed to teaching the fundamentals of baseball while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
